Ruth Saenz Obituary

SAENZ, Ruth Amelia Passed away peacefully in Scottsdale, AZ with her family at her side on July 11, 2003. Her passing was sudden as the result of an aneurysm. Ruth was the much loved and devoted wife of Raymond S. Saenz. Adored mother of Amanda Saenz-Rivas and Clint Saenz. Loving stepmother of Ray and Rick Saenz and Shannon Kahl. Prized mother-in-law of Xavier Rivas. Cherished grandmother of Alyssa Saenz-Rivas, Angelica and Alycia Saenz, Alexis and Sandra Estrada. Ruth was looking forward to the birth of granddaughter Amelia Saenz-Rivas in September. In 2001 Ruth and husband relocated from Sonoma County to Arizona. Ruth, Raymond, Amanda, Xavier, Alyssa and Clint realized her dream of a beautiful home in Scottsdale. Ruth was best friend to granddaughter Alyssa who spent hours sharing her life with her grandmother whom she called "Meme". Ruth was born in 1952 to the late George and Helen Haza. At the age of seven, she became a much loved member of the Edwards family. She grew up in Petaluma attending McKinley Elementary School. The family moved to Liberty District where Ruth attended Rohnert Park Jr. High and graduated from Rancho Cotate High School. Ruth leaves behind a large extended family which includes Robert and Dorothy Edwards and her siblings Phylis (Haza) Kelly, Carol, Charlotte, Nick and Jim Haza, Ron (Linda) Edwards, Irene (Steve) Barnes, Bob (Donna) Edwards, Tom (Dianne) Edwards and Deborah Cordova. She leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth loved being a member of her large family. She enjoyed working and exploring the web on her computer and was an accomplished and rapid typist, but first and foremost Ruth was a devoted, loving wife, mother and grandmother. At her request there will be no formal funeral service but rather a memorial and celebration of her life which will be held at the Edwards’ home in Kenwood at a later date. SHE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. ITS HARD WITHOUT HER AND WE HAVE TO KEEP DOING GOOD THINGS IN LIFE JUST FOR HER. IT'S BEEN ALMOST A MONTH AND I STILL HAVE A HARD TIME WITHOUT HER. NO ONE CAN REPLACE SOMEONE SO GREAT.....NO ONE....

My dearest sympathies go out to everyone who has had the honor and privilege in knowing, loving, and being loved by my Aunt Ruth. I know no better way to express to you in words about losing her other than, “I am sorry”. In all honesty she is the closest aunt I have ever known in my lifetime and she will undoubtedly be remembered by me as the best one. I have many fond memories of Aunt Ruth and in my heart it is hard to say good-bye. I remember recently seeing her in March and she was very vibrant and full of life then. The next time I go flying in Colorado I will fly towards Arizona, I will look just passed the canyons and red Arizona caverns, and I will smile to her as I approach this area and where the sky gets very sunny; As I type this now, I can picture her as she would be; a grand giant image of her soul smiling back at me just from beyond the cumulous clouds above. I love you Aunt Ruth and you shall always hold a place in my heart.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR BEING SO CARING. MY MOM WAS SUCH A GREAT PERSON. THE LORD WAS GREEDY WHEN HE TOOK HER. THE SAYING SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST DOESN'T EVEN APPLY. SHE WAS SO GIVING, LOVING, AND SHE WAS ALWAYS THERE WHEN YOU NEEDED HER. SHE WAS A GIFT TO HAVE AS A MOM AND A BEST FRIEND. SHE'LL BE GREATLY MISSED AND I'LL NEVER STOP BEING SO APPRECIATIVE OF HER. THE THINGS SHE DID FOR ME, AS WELL AS HER BEST FRIEND ALYSSA-HER GRANDDAUGHTER, MY DAD AND BROTHER AND EVERYONE SHE KNEW AND TOUCHED IN SOME WAY. I'M THANKFUL SHE GOT WHAT SHE ALWAYS DREAMED OF..... HER GORGEOUS HOUSE IN SCOTTSDALE...WITH THE HELP OF MY DAD WHOM I'M THANKFUL TO AS WELL. I'M ALSO GLAD I WAS ABLE TO BLESS HER WITH ALYSSA, WHOM I KNOW WILL MISS HER DEARLY, AND A NEW BABY WHO SHE KNEW OF, BUT NEVER GOT TO SEE BE BORN. IN HER HONOR, I'M NAMING THE BABY "AMELIA" AFTER HER. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME ANYTIME.

LOVE ALWAYS,

AMANDA
