Sharon Soracco passed away June 11, 2022 at the age of 89 in the comfort of her home in Healdsburg.
Sharon was married for 67 years to her beloved husband Jack, who passed away three weeks prior to her. She is survived by her children: Jim (Denise), Jeannie (Tom) Benton and Carole (Bill) Somma. Adored grandmother to Robert Soracco, Lauren Soracco, Noel (Todd) Schapmire, Laura (Will) Lance, Matt (Erika) Benton, Karen (Cody) Vallauri and Ben Somma. Great grandmother to Tyler (Madi), Gianna, Jack and Drew. Great great grandmother to Lucca.
Sharon is also survived by her dear sister and brother-in-law, Noel and Dan Burr; nieces and nephews Carolyn Wootton, Julie Seng, Tom Burr and their families; and Joanne and John Soracco and their families.
Sharon was predeceased by parents, Anna and Floyd Smith; aunt and uncle, Edna and Harry Everett and mother-in-law, Nilda Soracco.
Sharon grew up in Alexander Valley with her sister, Noel, where their parents were prune ranchers. Her mother's family, the Warner's, came to Healdsburg in 1874 and her father's family, the Smith's, settled in Geyserville in 1875. Sharon was a fifth generation Healdsburg resident.
She worked at Bank of America until her son, Jim, was born. She was a member of the Healdsburg Elementary PTA, an American Heart Association pledge captain and a founding leader of the Warm Springs 4-H Club. Sharon enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting and needlepoint, which she was truly an artist at. She was actively involved in her children's activities such as Scouts and 4-H. She enthusiastically attended her grandchildren and great grandchildren's sports, music and drama events which brought her much joy.
Friends and family may pay their respects Thursday, June 23rd from 4-7 pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Healdsburg. Funeral Mass Friday, June 24th at 11 am at St. John the Baptist Church with entombment following at Oak Mound Cemetery.
