She was an inspiring teacher and mentor during my nursing studies at Sonoma in the '70s, helping me to become a Public Health Nurse with an appreciation for social justice and cultural respect for clients of diverse ethnicities and backgrounds.

My deepest condolences to Sue's family and friends. Sue was one of a number extraordinary SSU nursing professors while I attended. It was an honor to have known such a dedicated nursing educator. Sue's academic influence and mentoring at SSU sparked a passion and motivation in my pursuit of a community health nursing and public health career.
