Virginia Williamson Obituary

Virginia Lee Williamson was born in Eureka, California on November 8, 1937 to Texas Daniel and Lottie Pearl Williamson. Soon after, the family moved to Penngrove, California where Virginia attended and graduated from Petaluma High School. She was employed at the Sunshine School in San Francisco. She also loved taking care of her neighbors and friends' little children. Virginia enjoyed an active Christian life, loved to sing spiritual songs and to read her Bible for pleasure. Her former church home was the Penngrove Community Church until she moved to Ukiah in 2006 and became part of New Life Community Church. Virginia and her mother Lottie loved to travel by car with friends and family in the Western United States. They also delighted in trips to Hawaii and Mexico. She crocheted beautiful afghans and did needlepoint in her spare time. She lived at Mountain View Assisted Living in Ukiah for two years, then the last four months at Ukiah Convalescent Hospital. She was visited frequently by her mother Lottie of Penngrove; her brother Norman Williamson of Ukiah and his wife Margaret; her niece Mary of Ukiah and husband Denis Ingoldsby; great-niece Mimi and husband Jason and their daughters Ellianna, Madelyn and Violet and great-niece Rachel Moss all of Ukiah. She leaves her beloved nephew Daniel and wife Lynn, their children Kristin of Tustin, California, Daniel Jr., wife Michelle and baby Isaac Daniel of Vista, California and her nephew Theodore and his family of Boise, Idaho. Virginia was preceded in death by nephew Michael Williamson, but survived by Mike's dearly loved Janey and their daughter Emily and husband Matt of Meridian, Idaho and their three children. Virginia loved her dear aunts Maxine Jacobsen and Pat Carlson and her uncle Barney Bertrand all of Washington State, and cousin Don Wagner and wife Diane of Reedsport, Oregon. There will be a Memorial Service on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at the Penngrove Community Church, 9970 Oak Street, Penngrove. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a favorite charity. The EVERSOLE MORTUARY is in charge of arrangements.

Dearest Lottie, my heart is with you at this sad time. A little more of Penngrove has drifted away. I will always remember Virginia's and your sweet friendship when I was a little girl.

Maggie and Norm,
Virginia was a wonderful woman. I couldn't have asked for a better roommate for my mom Lois. She was pleased to tell me of her birth place since I live near Eureka and have seen that house many times.
Love to you, Cheryl Phillips
