William Smith (Bill) passed peacefully on September 19, 2022. He lived a life full of adventure and love with his wife of 62 years, Arline Hotle Smith. He is predeceased by his parents William and Winifred, sister Florence and brother David. Bill was born in South Carolina, raised in Long Island and graduated from Babson College. He followed Arline to the west coast, and they settled in her hometown, Piedmont California. They moved to Healdsburg with their three children in 1976. Bill and Arline traveled extensively on their boat circling the globe a few times. No matter how far they traveled the Pacific Northwest was always his favorite boating area. Besides his wife, Bill is survived by his three children, Arlie (Graham), Lynne (Mike) and David (Kim). He created quite a large family and also is survived by ten grandchildren, Mallori (Paul) Jeffrey (Rachelle), Whitney (Mat), Jenna (Bradley), Robert (Sarah), James, Maxwell (Harriet), Helenann (Spencer), Leighton and Lauren (Sutter), and eight great-grandchildren, Lilah, Bennett, William, Bradley, Kiera, Sydney, Madison and Maverick. He is best remembered by his grandchildren for the amazing boating summers in the Pacific North West, and Europe, the annual Hawaiian vacation at Napili Kai and for always having candy in his shirt pocket.
