Barbara Barnard Obituary
Age 89, passed away May 20, 2017 in Lake Elsinore, California with her son and daughter by her side. Born in Philadelphia, PA in June 1927 to Harry and Marion Ungerleider, Barbara grew up in Great Neck, New York. She graduated from Smith College before beginning a career in television in New York City with the DuMont Television Network.
She married Donald Rosenquest in 1952 and they moved together to Los Angeles, where she managed the Caroline Leonetti Ltd modeling agency before forming her own ad agency with Donald. Donald passed away in 1977, and Barbara later married Dick Barnard. They moved to Riverside County in 1995 and her agency continued there. Dick passed away in 2002.
Barbara was a pioneering working woman, with a career that spanned live television, editorial for Harper's Bazaar, costume design, and running her own successful agency for over 40 years. She worked right up to her last day, loving her life and her work.
Barbara is survived by her sister Ellen Justus; son Nils Rosenquest (wife Sally); daughter Jordis Rosenquest (husband Robin); nephew Brad Justus (wife Wendy); niece Andrea Kann (husband Greg) and her cousin Alan Rice, as well as a wide array of friends, associates and co-workers around the world.
Barbara possessed a unique soul, inspiring anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. An extraordinary lady, she lived life to the fullest with humor, grace, poise and sheer smarts right up to her last moment.
Barbara requested no services. Instead the family will be planning a celebration party later this summer to be held in California.

I'm so sorry to learn of Barbara's passing. My sincere condolences to Jordie, Nils, Ellen and your families. I'm very glad to have known Barbara. She was truly one of a kind. I so admire her lust for life and how she kept on ticking through all that came her way, the good and bad. She had a remarkably high level of energy and a genuine interest in so many diverse topics, and always was ready to experience more. She will be missed and never forgotten.
