Beverly Jean Roberts

1934 - 2015

BEVERLY JEAN (SHORES) ROBERTS Beverly Roberts, born July 23, 1934, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2015 at her home in Redlands, with her family by her side. Her devoted husband of nearly 63 years, Hurley "Bill" Roberts preceded her in death by exactly 4 months. She is also preceded in death by her parents (Elmer and Ferne Shores); sister, Shirley Reed (Montclair, CA); son Hurley W. Roberts III (Redlands, CA), niece Linder Reed Harder, and numerous friends and relatives. Born in Fullerton, CA, Beverly graduated from Corona High School in 1952 and soon thereafter married her high school sweetheart, Bill Roberts. After many stops along the way, they settled back in Corona where their son, Hurley III, was born in 1955. In 1962, Bill and Beverly started ROCON steel in Paramount, where they worked until he retired in 1977. Their daughter, Marita, was born in 1963 in Long Beach, CA. Bill and Beverly built a home in Bloomington, CA in 1970 where they resided until 1986. Beverly was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, which was the absolute joy of her life. She was involved in PTA, Lion's Club and community events, regardless of where they lived. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, cooking, knitting, and was a fierce card player. Entertaining friends and relatives at their lake house in Ruth Lake, Ca was one of Beverly's favorite things. Everyone was always welcome to dinner and cocktails on the porch at Ruth! Beverly will be dearly missed by her daughter Marita and son-in-law Mark Gardner (Redlands), along with her two grandsons Riley Gardner (Jackson Hole, WY) and Austin Gardner (San Jose, CA). She also leaves behind her devoted niece, Paula Ross and husband William (Montclair, CA). Beverly lived a full life and will be grieved by many, especially dear friends from Ruth Lake and Bloomington, CA. Services are pending.
