Carolyn Urick Obituary
Age 82, of Hemet, CA, entered into eternal rest after losing her valiant fight against corticobasal degeneration (CBD) on April 7, 2017. Carolyn was born in Ravenna, Ohio in 1934 to Otto and Mary Kaupinen. She had two older sisters, Elaine and Elma Lou, all who preceded Carolyn in death. Growing up on a celery farm in Ohio, Carolyn embraced her Finnish heritage with saunas on the farm and frequent family gatherings.
She survived tuberculosis as a teenager, no doubt due to her strong sisu (Finnish for determination, grit and bravery). She was fiercely loyal to her husband, family, and friends. Carolyn's infectious laugh, smile, and sisu will be missed.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles Edward Urick Jr., her three children: Cassandra Covey (Kris), Christine Carl (Greg), and Charles Edward Urick III (Kirsten), and seven grandchildren.
Carolyn was the consummate hostess and loved a fun party. To honor her, the family will host a celebration of life service and party at the residence of Kris and Cass Covey on Saturday, April 15 at 3pm.

Carolyn was my husband's 2nd cousin, and we looked forward to our visits with her and Chuck. Hard to believe such a bright light has left us-- she will be fondly remembered.

Chuck and Family,
I am so sorry to hear Carolyn passed away. I will always remember her wit and infectious smile. I always enjoyed playing Bunco with her "back in the day".
