Danny Stouffer Obituary

IN LOVING MEMORY OF:DANNY LEE STOUFFER "Bigger than life" would be an easy way to describe the life that Danny Lee Stouffer led for the last 60 years. On September 18th, Danny passed away peacefully. Danny was born on May 12, 1949 in Phoenix, Arizona and grew up in that local area and he attended Camelback High School before he came to California at the age of sixteen to live with his uncle in Grand Terrace and then he later moved to Colton. Not long after moving to Colton he found the love of his life, Susan Marie Gregory, and he married her in August 1969. In 1970, Danny went to work for Riverside County in the Waste Management department as a Dozer Operator, and in that same year Sue and he had their first child, Robert. Not too long after that in 1973 they had their second child, Kristie and soon thereafter they moved to Highgrove. While his children were growing, Danny was always active in their lives and he especially enjoyed going boating at the Colorado River with his family. In 1978 he left the County of Riverside and went to work for Camco in Corona, where he stayed for two years before starting his own trucking firm DMF. DMF is still going strong today, whereby over 40 trucks are hauling materials to Mecca, California on a continuous time schedule each week. During his many years in business, both Danny and Sue developed ongoing friendships with almost everyone they came in contact with and their home as always open to anyone who wanted to stop by to visit and talk. He was a big practical joker and was known to carry whip cream somewhere on his person to surprise an unsuspecting visitor with a squirt of cream - he really enjoyed food fights, as well. One legacy that Danny leaves behind his his love of giving the children of Grand Terrace, Highgrove and Colton hay rides in the Fall months of each year. He has done those rides for the last 15 years. He is survived by his wife, Susan; his son, Robert (Karen) Stouffer; daughter, Kristie (Mike) Walker; six lovely grandchildren, Chelsea, Cody, Daniel, Kaylee Sue, Joseph and Trevor. A sunset service will be held in Colton at 2201 Wild Canyon Drive at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26. I was two years younger than my brother, but he never let me down. when I needed him he was there and for what ever reason, if they knew he was my brother they made a big path around me. I can still see his big smile, and blue eyes. My memories of our child hood is priceless now. He will never know how much I love him and still feel no matter how many miles is between us, he is in my heart. He is still my big wonderful bigger than life brother. Debbie

I was very fortunate to know Danny for a little more than ten years. He was a man of many men, he wore alot of hats. There was never a time Danny would say no to any one that may have needed his help. His heart out weighted his size and stature. Even though Danny was quiet at times, just his presence was enough. He was a good observer. We have lost a great man and friend at this time. I will remember with great joy, all the river trips, conventions, hay rides and parties that he did for his friends. Danny the gentle giant that brought happiness and joy to so many people. He will be surely missed, but we will keep him in our thoughts and hearts often.

Love ya big guy,

Danny is remember with fondness by both my husband and myself. My husband remembers him as a young teen working at a Highgrove service station. I remember Danny thru Mason Mart when the Company rented storage yards where I was the Manager. Danny was so helpful to me. What a great gentlemen...he will be missed.
