DARREN A. KITCHEN, 29, passed away on August 31, 2016. Darren was born November 18, 1986, in Hemet, CA and was a lifelong resident of the Soboba Indian Reservation. Darren, a member of the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians, was an active community member and worked for various entities of the Soboba Tribe. He lived a life full of love, family and friends. You rarely saw him without a smile. He loved spending time with family and friends. He could quote any movie and sing any song. He loved to dance. He especially loved just being there for everyone. You could count on him for a laugh, a movie, a song to sing, a dance partner, a big hug, and a shoulder to cry on. He was a person with the most gentlest and generous soul. He will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his mom Dione Kitchen; stepdad CJ Dunmire; stepsister Zoey Dunmire; stepbrother Miles Dunmire; grandma Carlene A. Masiel; grandpa Robert Masiel Sr.; grandpa Gabriel "Butch" Kitchen; grandma Tillie Valdez; many aunts, uncles, cousins, goddaughters, and friends. Darren was preceded in death by his father Bernave Valdez; aunts Duran Kitchen, Vanessa Kitchen and Penny Bentiste; great grandparents Norbit Arres Sr. and Frances Arres; uncles Tony Bentiste, Robert Morreo, Norbert "Bud" Arres Jr. and Roddy Rhodes; and cousins Joseph Arres, Dusty Rhodes, Gordon Arres Jr., and Nizhoni Arres. A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on September 9 at Inland Memorial Harford Chapel, 120 N. Buena Vista Street, Hemet. Viewing will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a Mass at 10 a.m. on September 10 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on the Soboba Reservation. Burial will follow at the Soboba Cemetery. A lunch reception at the sports complex will immediately follow the burial.
