Donna Georgakakos Obituary

GEORGAKAKOS, DONNA ANN Daughter of Anna and Donald Madison of Reed City Michigan, died December 13, 2005 after an eight-year battle with ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease. Donna was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, colleague and friend to many. She should be remembered for her gifts of unconditional love and understanding, her love of everything and her love of learning. Her teaching and the methods of teaching that she created are gifts for all humanity. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dr. John Georgakakos, daughter Betina, her husband Nikit and their two children Neal and Ria. Viewing will be Friday, December 16, 2005 from 6pm to 9pm at the Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Ave. Riverside CA 92504. Funeral Services will be Saturday December 17, 2005 at 9:00am at the St. Prophet Elias Church, San Bernardino, followed by interment at Olivewood Memorial Park, 3300 Central Avenue, Riverside CA. Those wishing to donate in lieu of flowers may donate to St. Elias Greek Orthodox church or the ALS Association. ACHESON & GRAHAM MORTUARY (951) 688-1221

Donna was such a beautiful person. John and Donna were like parents to me growing up. I spent so much of my childhood at the Georgakakos house and I know I am a better person because of this family. The world is most definitely a better place because of Donna.She will be greatly missed.
