Edmond Pierson Obituary
April 16, 1936 - August 5, 2022 On August 05, 2022, at 4:48 AM a wife lost her confidant, love, storyteller, and the friend she cradled like a cup of warm soup on a rainy day. A daughter lost her hero, and giver of unconditional love. A son lost his mentor, best friend, and book of answers to the question, "Why?" A family lost their mountain, their humor, a laugh, and a light house's beam pulling them home. Edmond Clyde Pierson, age 86, of Yucaipa, California, loved dark coffee, his Golden Retrievers, and swearing at a white dimpled ball that he hooked, sliced, or missed between the one shot he hit right. But most of all, Ed loved his family and cherished his friends. Ed was born in Bruno, Minnesota, on April 16, 1936. The son of the late Robert A. Pierson and Isabelle Charpentier. As a young child, he lived in Douglas, Arizona, graduating high school in 1955. He attended ASU Tempe for 2 years. He married Mary Jane (Janie) Woodall on June 14, 1958. The newlyweds relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where Ed became a Police Officer with the Phoenix Police Department and the happy couple had three children. In 1965, Ed and his family moved to Anaheim, Ca., where Ed joined the Anaheim Police Department. He was promoted to Detective and then Master Sergeant. He enjoyed his career for a total of 34 years. A profession that brought him respect and admiration from his fellow police officers. Ed retired in 1992, while residing in Yucaipa, CA, with Janie for the past 31 years. He practiced his faith at St. Francis Catholic Church. His church family and golf buddies were an essential part of his life. Ed was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, serving two and a half terms as Grand Knight. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Isabelle Pierson, brother Lyle Pierson and Ed and Janie's son Eric Basil Pierson. Ed is survived in life by his loving wife of 64 years, Janie Pierson; his sisters Niona Helmer, Murphy Grainger, Sharon (Jim) Kennedy; daughter - Dianna (Pierson) Lindseth and her husband Ed; son - Robert Pierson and his wife Yolanda; grandchildren Bradley (Heather), Lindseth, Elyse (Oscar), Nuevo, Stephen (Bryana), Lindseth, Victor (Christina), Pierson, Brianna (Kyle), Vasquez, Meghann Pierson, and Derrick (Lina) Chrisinger; 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. His love will embrace us forever. Arrangements are being handled by the Neptune Society. A Mass will honor Ed's life at St. Francis X Cabrini Catholic Church, 12687 California Street, Yucaipa, Ca 92399, on September 21, 2022 at 11AM. There will be a lunch reception to receive family and friends at the Knights of Columbus Hall after mass, 12586 California Street, Yucaipa, CA 92399. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ed's name to the Knights of Columbus, 12586 California Street, Yucaipa, CA 92399 or St. Francis X Cabrini Catholic Church, 12687 California Street, Yucaipa, Ca 92399.
