George Russell Heider

HEIDER, GEORGE RUSSELL Born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on July 19, 1926, died at his home in Banning, CA. on November 11, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Virginia; two sons, Richard and wife Sandra of Chino Hills, Gerald and wife Denise of Upland; two daughters, Mariellen Lillard and husband Bradley and Sharon Heider; three grandsons, Brian Heider and wife Heather, Gregory Heider and Kevin Lillard; granddaughters, Kristi Toth and husband Jason, Kelley Lillard and Tiffany Heider; also by step-grandson, Beaux Sharifi and wife Sarah; two great-granddaughters, Kaelin Toth and Parker Heider. He is also survived by brothers Herman of Banning and Paul of Carlisle, PA; sisters, Frances of Banning and Sara of New Florence, PA, as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins. George served in the Navy during WWII on board an LCI-M, smallest commissioned ship in the Navy, involved in 7 major operations in the South Pacific. During the Korean conflict he served in the Army CID and Military Police. Visitation will be held at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Ave., Beaumont, 4-8pm, Wed., 11/16. His funeral service will be held at Banning First Baptist Church, 565 N. San Gorgonio in Banning on Thurs., 11/17 at 9am with burial at 11am at Riverside National Cemetery.
