Gilbert James Koney

GILBERT JAMES KONEY 79 years old; born: January 18, 1933 - Cleveland, OH; passed: December 18, 2012 - Palm Springs, CA. He was a resident of Menifee, CA for last 9 years. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954 attaining rank of Staff Sergeant, then served in the United States Coast Guard from 1959 to 1964 attaining rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class (AD2). Gilbert was employed by United Airlines for 30 years and retired in 1994. He was a life member of the VFW Post 6060 North Carolina and supported many Veterans and Law Enforcement organizations. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Ana (Anita); his daughter Celeste Stancel and her husband Ryan. Gilbert always enjoyed his two wonderful grandchildren, Zachary and Justin.
