Jeffrey Smith Obituary

JEFFREY EDWARD SMITH
Jeffrey Edward Smith passed away on October 2, 2017, near his home in Escondido, Ca. Jeff was born in Anaheim, Ca. on December 19, 1960. His family moved to Mariposa, Ca. in 1965. Jeff's family heritage and history goes back four generations in the Sierra foothills.
Jeff's childhood on the family acreage instilled in him a deep love for the outdoors, exploring and adventure. As an adult, Jeff continued those adventures with the thrill of the race, racing cars and motorcycles. He also played Ice Hockey and was a beloved member of the team.
Jeff became family to all who knew him. He was an entrepreneur mechanic and no repair was too big for his talent! His great loves were the many dogs and pets that he raised over the years.
He will be greatly missed by his family and all those friends that became his extended family. Jeff is survived by his father Ron Smith of Oakhurst CA; his sister Ronda Chambers of Mariposa CA; brother David Smith of Oakhurst CA; sisters Laura Bradhurst of Oakhurst CA, Wendy Reynolds of El Portal, CA, and Eve McMullen of Post Falls, ID. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his best friend and companion Dodger, a Golden retriever as well as his pet bird Gray Birdie.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to a Golden Retriever Rescue Organization in your area.
Celebration of life for Jeff Smith will be held this Sunday, October 15th from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Temecula Cycle, 27470 Commerce Drive, Ste B, Temecula , CA.

Jeff, your friendship has left a remarkable impression on my life. Your kindness and willingness to work on my bike for, at times, Taco Bell, will always be the pennical of character in my book. From the way you treated your sweet dog Maddie to the way you gracefully handled the toughest of customers. You were a true class act!

I was excited to show you where my life has taken me. I am no longer the 16 year old long haired kid that used to loiter around your garage, but now a 33 year old man who's career focuses around off highway recreation. You would have been truly happy for me that I know.

I will never forget you Jeff!

This world is a bit darker without you my friend and I truly regret not stopping by to see you when I had the chance.

Godspeed.

Still riding this same bike, wishing you could still be working on it for me.

Always remembering you, you were a friend as well as my mechanic and nobody else will be able to fill that void the same way. You will be missed so very much.

Jeff was more than just my mechanic . He was a generous and caring individual that provided my son , Brandon, one of his most unique and joyful days. Being a quad limits your ability to do the things that you love . Jeff didn't hesitate to get Brandon a ride in a NASCAR . It's people like him that we should all aspire to be like. I'll miss him . So will my son.
