I cannot believe one year as passed.There is not a day that goes by that Joey or his smile or laugh does not cross my mind or my heart. We all go on each day knowing that is what he would want us to do because he is in heaven with our heavenly Father. There will be a day when we are all together again, dancing, laughing, playing like children, and talking. This has been my inspiration and I will continue to smile for my cousin Joey. I love and miss you!

Damn I can't believe its been a year. All of ours lives changed this day. Not a moment goes by that I don't think of you. As children all the things we did and as adults all the things we never got to do. Just know cuz that I take you with me everywhere I go. I love and miss you dearly. My you party in paradise!

I miss my Cousin Joey very much. Not a day goes by when I don't think about him,and I smile thinking of all our fun memories. Joey was such an awesome person, I love him very much. He was always smiling and laughing and I know he is still doing so. He was always so proud of his family and I know he is smiling down on us...his everlasting smile is what gets me through all of this. I wish I can see him again but I do talk to him in my prayers and let him know he will always be here with us. Every time I see something silly or exciting, I think of him. I love you cuz!!!

I met Joe while I was in the hospital for cancer therapy in November 2009. I had never met such a caring individual as Joe, and I found myself looking forward to his daily visits. Joe truly made a very difficult time much more bearable for me. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Joe,
I saw you at the nurseteria during my second year at pharmacy school and recognized you because you used to date my sister, Margarita. I never said hello, but wish everyday now that I did.
I admire your hard work and dedication to medicine. Coming from San Bernardino myself, I know how hard it is to get to this place. Congratulations on all of your accomplishments Joe Hernandez, MD.

Dear Rita and Family....My heart breaks for you. I have been in prayer for all of you and I had a Mass offered for Joey as soon as I found out. I am so very sorry for your loss. I am praying Our Lord and Our Lady will comfort you, sustain you and hold you in their embrace. His light has not gone out, it's only moved up higher and has become brighter!
