Kathleen Godwin Obituary

KATHLEEN "KAE" LOUISE GREER STUART GODWIN Age 88, died February 8, 2007 in Santa Barbara, California, after a brief illness. She was born on July 2, 1918 in Lansing, Michigan to Anna (Studney) and Frank Greer. She married her first husband, George Johnston Stuart, Jr. on April 12, 1947, in New Rochelle, New York; and in 1957, they moved with their two young sons to Whittier, California. After George's retirement from North American Rockwell in 1978, they moved to Lake Elsinore, where they enjoyed their friends and ham radio until George passed away on September 29, 1996. On March 29, 1997, Kae married Robert (Bob) Dedrick Godwin in Santa Barbara, California. She and Bob enjoyed riverboat cruising the country's major rivers. Kae passionately supported the Conservative Movement. She was president of the Whittier Federated Republican Women and supported efforts to preserve Rancho del Cielo, President Reagan's ranch in Santa Barbara County, California. Kae is survived by her husband, Bob, sons George Greer Stuart (Jane) of Columbia, MO, Glenn Scott Stuart (Mindy) of Big Bear, CA, grandsons Tony Adair Stuart of Columbia and George Kite Stuart (Angela) of Chicago, great-grandson Chad Anthony Stuart (Columbia), as well as her stepchildren Maggie Godwin Steward (Craig) of Santa Barbara, Rob Godwin of Woodland Hills and Mary Christensen of Sacramento, California. She will be interred in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania next to her first husband, George. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her honor to the Young Americas Foundation, 217 State Street, Santa Barbara, California 93101.
