LAWRENCE "Larry" WAYNE PIERCE Beloved Husband & Father Passed on February 1, 2011 in Santa Maria, CA. He has lived in the Nipomo / Santa Maria area for the last 20 years. Born on June 8, 1921 in San Jacinto, CA, Larry raised his family and lived in the San Jacinto Valley for most his life. He graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1939, and attended business college at Woodbury University in Los Angeles for one year. In 1940, he married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Pierce, and became a Journeyman Steel Worker in Hawaii, where he witnessed the attack on Pearl Harbor. After the attack, Larry decided to join the US Navy, serving during WWII as a Seabee. When he returned home, Larry owned and operated Quality Plumbing, changing the name later to Larry Pierce Plumbing, which is now known today in Hemet and San Jacinto as Pierce Plumbing. He was also a partner in James Lawrence Ford Sales, now known as Gosch Ford. Larry served his community as Mayor of San Jacinto from 1966 until 1968, was a member of the San Jacinto City Council from 1963 - 1968, and a member of the San Jacinto Rotary Club. His hobbies included woodworking and gardening. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Larry always commented on what a great life he had. Larry is survived by his wife Paula Pierce; predeceased in 2006 by his loving wife of 66 years Bonnie Pierce; survived by his daughters: Linda (Russell) Willard, Karole (Wayne) Romeril, and Ginger (Anthony) Phillips; his 18 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Larry was predeceased by his parents Frank Pierce and Iola Lockwood. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the San Jacinto Valley Cemetery.
