Knowing Nancy for over thirty years as her mentee through the Inland Area Writing Project and as a friend, I will miss her warm wit, her intelligence, and her enthusiasm. Nancy was generous with ideas, open to all culture-- high art as well as folk art, and a lover of words. I will miss her Christmas cards, her brunches, her voice. Nancy was one of those special people whose life built bridges to everywhere among all the people who knew her. Nancy, we will miss you. I will miss you.
