Paul Ortiz

PAUL J. ORTIZ 44, Formerly of Lake Elsinore, California, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2008, in his home town of Rapid City, South Dakota. He was born December 10, 1963 in Riverside, California. He was employed as a plumber and previously served in the United States Army. He was a graduate of Elsinore Union High School and attended San Jacinto Junior College, where he was a star athlete in basketball and track. He was loving husband, son, father, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him. His family and friends will all miss him very much. Paul is survived by his wife, Mary Ortiz, of Rapid City; his children, Jamila, Michael, Kalila, Jasmine, and Joseph Ortiz; and his step-children, Edward, Aaron, Tanya, and Chenoa Hoof; his ten grandchildren; his parents, Marshall and Ernestine Ortiz, Sr.; his three brothers and four sisters, his mother-in-law, JoAnn Sierra; and his father-in-law, LeRoy (Barb) Hoof. A one night Wake will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2008, in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Visitation will commence at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at Serenity Springs Funeral Chapel in Rapid City, S.D. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Serenity Springs Funeral Chapel with Reverend Steve Lindsay officiating. Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, S.D. with military honors provided by the VFW Post 1273 Condolences may be sent to the Ortiz Family, at 34135 Orange Street, Wildomar, California, 92595. A celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, at the Calvary Chapel, located at 107 North Riley Street, in Lake Elsinore, California, 92530. A family reception will follow at the Ortiz home.
