Richard C. Lorenzi

Long time Riverside Attorney Richard C. (Rick) Lorenzi passed away on Sunday, July 10 surrounded by family and friends. Originally born in Corona, California, Rick graduated from Riverside's Ramona High School. He subsequently graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Communications and then University of La Verne with his Law degree. He was a criminal defense attorney before joining the Riverside County District Attorney's office as a prosecutor who handled parents who failed to support their children. Many of his colleagues noted at the time that he was one of the very few attorneys who brought a perspective of both sides of the law to the District Attorney's office.In addition he was one of 3 founders of Inland Empire Magazine where he served as Corporate Counsel for many years. Also he contributed many significant articles including a wildly heralded in person interview with music legend Dick Clark.His passions included trout fishing in the High Sierras, music and cooking. His annual Christmas feasts were works of wonder as he created home made Ravioli, Spumoni and more. He also possessed an excellent palate for wine tasting and was part of the founding family at Lorenzi Estate Winery in Temecula where he annually participated in wine blending and evaluations.He was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his son Christopher, daughter-In-law in law, Dana, grandson, Owen, brother Don, sister-in- law Brenda and nieces Melissa and Michelle.
