Robert Boots Obituary

ROBERT GEORGE BOOTS Robert "Bob" George Boots passed away December 8, 2007 in Riverside, California at the age of 81. He was born November 1, 1926 in Elkhart, Indiana. He was a resident of Riverside County for 43 years. Bob enjoyed traveling around the world with his wife, Sally. He also enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. He cared about others and his loving, outgoing way endeared him to everyone he met. After graduating from high school early in January 1945, Bob entered the Army in August 1945. He served in Germany in the occupation forces for a little over a year and was honorably discharged in March 1947. He was an insurance investigator for 20 years until he retired in 1990. In 1998 he suffered a massive stroke, but survived under the constant care and devotion of his wife, for another 9 years, despite being unable to speak and being paralyzed on his right side. Bob was an extraordinary person that everyone loved because of happy smiles, laughter, and wonderful, engaging stories. He will truly be missed. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sally; his daughter, Cheryl Knecht; his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Diane Boots; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA, 92504. The interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Acheson & Graham Garden Of Prayer Mortuary (951) 688-1221

Bob was one of the best male figures in my life. Greatness comes to my mind when I think of my Uncle Bob. I feel Bob had a very special gift. Bob could naturally and effortlessly tap into life itself and enjoy all it had to offer. Bob could see life through clear sight and loved each day as it were a new. With this kind unique insight it is no wonder life carried him so far. It if were not for our physical limitations that make life's journey so bitter sweet. My hat is off to my Uncle Bob and it is my prayer that I can only emulate and share with others the times and all that I was able to share and learned from my Uncle Bob. Uncle Bob you will be missed.

With all my love your Nephew

We had the pleasure of meeting Bob only one time at his great-grandson's birthday party, but were enchanted with his humor, good nature and loving spirit. He was joyful, hopeful and an inspiration! We send our love and sympathy to his devoted wife and his wonderful and supportive family. We know you will miss him and we will keep you close in our hearts during this time.
