Robert Meekins Obituary
Age 73, was born November 15, 1943 to A.D. and Eula Mae Meekins in Frost, TX. He passed away on May 6, 2017 in Ellijay, GA. He served as a Chief Electronics Technician during his service in the U.S. Navy from August 1961 to May 1981. His cremains will rest at the Georgia National Cemetary. Robert is survived by his second wife, Barbara Meekins of Buford, GA; his daughter Gail Kimbrough of Huntington Beach, CA; and his granddaughter La'Tasha Kimbrough of San Bernardino, CA. A memorial service is scheduled on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Heritage Memorial Chapel, 17712 Beach Blvd., Huntington Beach, CA. Robert's nephew, Pastor Terrance Meekins of the Cornerstone Faith Church of Moreno Valley, CA will officiate. A repass will follow at Dilday Chapel, 17911 Beach Blvd., Huntington Beach, CA. Family and friends are encouraged to attend.

Bob "Chief" Meekings was my boss at Damn Neck Va in 1980,81 at the Fleet Ballistic Missile Training Center, CNC division. He was my very good friend and I was so proud to be his friend. He lived a couple of blocks from me in Virginia Beach and we vistied him and his wife frequently. I just found out about his passing and am so sad. He was a great man and I will always remember him. So many stories I remember. God bless you Bob and your family. Rick Petitt ET1 USN.
