Stephen R. Coar

STEPHEN R. COAR 65, Of San Bernardino, CA., passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at St. Bernardine Medical Center. Steve was born on January 24, 1938 in Pittston, Jenkins Township, PA. He was a resident of San Bernardino for 43 years. Steve was a dedicated police officer with the City of San Bernardino for 22 years. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 until 1959 achieving the rank of Airman Second Class. Steve was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral in San Bernardino, & the Retired Peace Officers Research Association of California, & The Independent Order of Foresters. Steve is survived by his wife of 21 years, Julie Ann, and his daughters Mary Theresa Coar of Missoula, MT & Catherine Anne Coar-Anderson of Corona, CA. Steve was preceded in death by his first wife Mavis Brady Coar & their son, Daniel (Danny) Joseph Coar. Steve is also survived by 3 brothers: Michael & his wife Dolores Coar of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, James & his wife Jennie Coar of Toms River, NJ & Edward & his wife Roseanne Coar of Luzerne, PA; a sister Antoinette Coar-Nenichka & her husband Joseph of Mays Landing, NJ. Steve will be sincerely missed. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 2, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 3, at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral, 2525 N. Arrowhead, San Bernardino. Burial services will be held at Montecito Memorial Park, Waterman Ave. & Barton Road, Colton following the Mass.
