Alice,
After 22 years of friendship I wondered why we were able to be such great friends. We are so different, from our ages, to our past lives. You traveled all over the country, I have been a home body. You had a family early, I never did. We spent much time together working as nurses, in good and not-so-good places and seemed to always be able to keep a sense of humor about the whole thing. In this past year of sickness you showed how strong you were and that is what helped me over the past 3 months. An amazing thing that I found about our friendship is that in the 22 years that we shared, we never really had any disagreements. Oh, we argued about stuipd things at times, but always were able to overlook them and continue with our friendship. Your nursed me through my low points and I did the same for you. Being at your side for the last few weeks has been the greatest gift and one that I will treasure always. The true testiment to your life is the friends that care so deeply for you. Every one of them not only said "can I do anything?", but actually did what was needed to make sure you knew how much you were loved. As usual you were right, you will be missed.

Dear Mom:
I remember how you Never wanted to be called Mother because it was too formal.
When I was a child, I remember laying next to you and watching you sleep.
I can still picture in my mind how excited you were for me on my first day of school and the pride I saw on your face at my graduations.
You use to say out loud "I made that!" when you looked at me.
I remember how much you loved amusement parks and the times we had as a family.
You were generous and kind to people beyond what they needed.
I remember the good times, the bad, the happy, and the sad.
You were my "bestest" friend for awhile and we fought like sisters from time to time.
You taught me to be strong and independent.
You were stronger than you'll ever know.
You were couragous to the very end!
You loved life even when it gave you a hard time.
I love you with ALL my heart.
I will miss you with my ALL my soul.
Mom, I look for comfort and can only find it in knowing that you are now in God's hands.

Mom-Mom, We had great days at the beach, we had great days at home, we had great days together, we had great days all and all. You were loved by so many, and you touched many lives. But most of all, you were the most wonderful and caring person anyone could ever want in there life. Thank you for always being there, even in the worse of times. I love you so much, may you rest in peace. Love your grandson, Joey.
