Anna C Gandy, age 83 of Northfield, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on Tuesday, November 25, at AtlanticCare Hospital -Mainland Division. She struggled hard for almost a year from the effects of a stroke on December 5, 2024. Anna was the only child of the late Joseph and Angelina Paoni. Anna was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on January 5, 1942 and at the age of 3 years the family moved to "Ducktown" in Atlantic City, N.J. She attended the local public schools and St. Michael's as well as Atlantic City High School and Atlantic Cape Community College. After graduation Anna attended Cosmetology school and received her license to practice. She worked at several local salons before opening her own salon "Just About Hair" on Shore Road in Northfield. About the same time she moved offshore to Northfield. She later retired in 2007 after approximately 40 years of Operations. Anna met her future husband in April of 1984 and had their first date on July 21 the same year. They were later married on July 21, 1996. Anna loved to travel and was fortunate enough to visit many historic Golf Courses throughout the United States and Europe. For most of her adult life Anna was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and attended her first NFL game in Philadelphia, Pa., and watched them win. Afterwards, she attended many games in Dallas, Texas, and they always won with her in attendance. When home she would occasionally get involved in debates with fans from other teams. When things got heated she always took control reminding others that "It's just a game".

Special thanks to the staff at Jefferson Moss Magee in Philadelphia who were very competent and dedicated in their rehabilitation efforts. Also doing an excellent job was Rosanna Sullivan from AtlanticCare Primary Care who exceeded all expectations of the tasks at hand. Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes, Inc. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9th at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Linwood, N.J., from 10:30 to 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing, N.J.
