Barry E. McIntyre

Barry E. McIntyre, 83, of Linwood, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024. Barry was born in Atlantic City, NJ, on September 27, 1941, to the late Edwin and Veronica McIntyre. He was a graduate of Holy Spirit High School and Utah State University. Barry was a proud veteran, having served as a Captain and pilot in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged from the USAF in 1969. Barry continued his flying career, becoming a pilot with United Airlines and ultimately retiring as Captain on the Boeing 767 in 2001 after 32 years. Never one to sit and relax, Barry also owned and operated McIntyre Real Estate in Somers Point, NJ. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, hiking, fishing and camping. Barry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Leslie J. McIntyre (Brown); children, Kelly M. Bozzi (Gene), Erin M. Bisirri (Chris), Tim McIntyre (Carolyn), and Hope McIntyre; sister, Edwina (Scuffy) Hinkle (Ronald) and family; as well as his grandchildren, Morgan Gaviria (Bryan), Megan Bozzi, Brendan Bisirri, Brian Bisirri, Nick Bozzi; and great-grandchildren, Michael, Bruce and Vera. Barry is also survived by many lifelong friends including, but not limited to, Lou Nell, Tom McLaughlin, Dr. Mehdi Haravi, Ed Madigan, and Dr. John Raab. Barry was predeceased by his parents; beloved son, Dr. Barry Sean McIntyre; and great-grandson, Bryan Gaviria.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 3 p.m., at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 1707 New Road, Linwood, NJ. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Veterans Wing, Meadowview Nursing Home, Northfield, NJ. Condolences may be extended to the family at ghwimberg.com.
