Carol Cassidy

CASSIDY, CAROL, 63 - of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on September 11, 2008, from injuries she suffered when struck by a vehicle two days earlier. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Margate, she was the daughter of the late Pat and Ellie Cassidy. After graduating from Holy Spirit High School, Carol started a career in the hotel industry, first in Atlantic City at the Traymore Hotel, and then worked for many years for Hyatt Hotels in San Francisco, Los Angles, and Chicago. She also traveled the country working as a consultant. In 1990 she accepted a job with Opryland Hotel in Nashville TN, where she resided for the past 18 years. For the past seven years, Carol has been a full-time volunteer at the John Paul II (JPII) High School where she helped with the office work, planned many events, helped in the art department and ultimately founded the school's National Art Honor Society Chapter. Carol is survived by her sisters, Sharon (Buzz) Delany of Galloway, and Patty (Gary) Morningstar of Frederick, MD; a niece, Kelly Delany; and nephews Tommy Delany, Chris and Greg Morningstar, and many relatives and friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated, Saturday, October 4, 2008, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Margate, at 11:00 a.m. Contributions can be made to the Carol Cassidy Art Scholarship Fund at JPII High School, 117 Caldwell Drive, Hendersonville, TN, 37075.
