Nardo, Charles (Kookie), - 73, of Mays Landing, passed away October 6, 2021, following several months of declining health. Charles was born in Atlantic City on July 2, 1948, to John and Carmelita Nardo and spent his childhood years in Margate. In his early years, Charles worked for the family business, Delaware Subs, in Atlantic City. Charles spent the next 30 years in the Casino Gaming industry. He retired his position as Table Games Supervisor in 2009. Charles enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, tennis, bowling, golf and in his later years' billiards. As a huge sports enthusiast, Charles never missed a chance to cheer on his children's sports teams during their school years. Every Sunday during football season was a cause for celebration at the Nardo house. Charles especially loved the NY Giants and the NY Yankees. Charles loved to entertain and enjoyed many good meals with family and friends. If you were in his presence, you had better be prepared for his collection of jokes and classic stories he loved to share. Charles's life was forever changed with the birth of his only grandchild, Kaitlyn. They shared a special bond and made many wonderful memories together. Charles is predeceased by his parents John and Carmelita Nardo, brother Edward Nardo, and daughter Tracy Roblin. He is survived by his loving wife Carole, sons John L Nardo (Kimberly) and Joseph Nardo, Granddaughter Kaitlyn Roblin, sister Rosemarie Nardo and sister-in-law Patricia Nardo. Charles is also survived by many other close family members, cousins, and dear friends. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 16th at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street, Mays Landing from 2-4pm with a prayer service at 4pm. To honor Charles, please wear casual attire or a jersey or shirt of your favorite sports team. Due to family concerns regarding the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic masks will be required. So sorry Carole and family to hear of Kookies passing. When I told everyone here at Tropicana, everyone said he was such a nice guy! He could always make me smile with his sense of humor. I will always remember the good old days on Hollywood Drive when you guys were my neighbors! My deepest sympathy!
