CHARLES H. "BIG CHARLES" PEYTON

PEYTON, CHARLES H. "BIG CHARLES" 68 - of Atlantic City departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on August 15, 2012 in Atlantic City. He was born on February 18, 1944 to Rose Mae and Aaron Peyton, Sr. in Rock Point, MD. Charles attended the Crisfield, MD. public school system and Carter G. Woodson School. He came to Atlantic City in the early 1960's where he met his soul mate and longtime companion known as "his wife", Hannah Lofton Gilliard. Big Charles was affiliated with the Church of God and Saints of Christ and was a member of the Local 54. Predeceased by his parents Rose Mae and Aaron Peyton, Sr.; his wife, Ms. Hannah Lofton Gilliard; two sisters, Violet and Patricia; Survived by five daughters, Sonella Bishop (Clarence), Hannah "Marie" and Cynthia Gilliard, all of AC, Doris Gilliard Pierce (Donald) of Hammonton and Ada Gilliard of Mays Landing; four sons, Charles Teagle (Ina) of Wilmington, De., Charles and David Gilliard both of AC and Joseph Jackson of Pleasantville; two sisters, Tamiki Gary of Princess Anne, Md. and Charmaine Peyton of Crisfield, Md.; two brothers, Aaron J. Peyton, Jr. of Bridgeton and Wade Peyton (Rose) of Oklahoma City. Ok; only living aunt, Milkey Waters of Crisfield, MD; a host of grandchildren, great-grands, in-laws, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Services will be held at MIKAL'S FUNERAL PARLOR LLC 30 N. Pennsylvania Ave on Monday August 27, 2012. 9am viewing 11am service.
