Dawson, Christine Marie (nee Wimberg), - 70, of Stuart, FL, passed away on November 30, 2021. She grew up in Egg Harbor City and attended Holy Spirit High School. Chris went on to attend Chestnut Hill College. She was a Junior Sailing Director and a member of the Ocean City Yacht Club. She was a dedicated educator and spent 25 years teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grades at Green Bank Elementary school until her retirement in July 2000. After retirement, Chris and Pete spent summers living on their boat in New Jersey and winters cruising the Bahamas. She lived life on her own terms. Pete and Chris created memories that Pete and her family will never forget. She touched so many lives and to know her was to love her. She loved her family, especially her nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephew. Her positive attitude was contagious and she always looked at things in a glass half full kind of way. Chris is survived by her husband, Peter Dawson; her siblings, Florence Ann Fricke, Anna Schenauer (Randy), Charles Wimberg (Nora), and John Wimberg (Linda); her nephews and nieces, Michael Fricke, Megan Schenauer, Mark Schenauer, Katie Wimberg Ranshaw, Kirsten Wimberg, and Jovan Wimberg; and her great nieces and nephew, Leah, Allison, Ava, and Parker. She will be missed but never forgotten. Services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wimberg Funeral Home in Egg Harbor City, NJ. For condolences, please visit

I'm so sad to hear about "Ms. Wimberg's" passing! She was my teacher and basketball coach at Green Bank Elementary and is a person I credit with helping me believe in myself as a quiet, shy girl. I tried to find her over the years to thank her for being such a wonderful, kind person, but Google & Facebook led nowhere. I'm so glad she and Pete (also my bball coach!) had such a awesome life together. So sorry for your loss Coach Pete and the Wimberg family.

Sorry to hear about your loss Pete. She was a wonderful individual and full of life. Trisha and I really enjoyed being around her and talking to her. You guys were nomads but that´s exactly what you both wanted and nobody can ever take that away form either of you. Thanks to you we really think she had a great life and lived it to it's fullest. From the bottom of both of our hearts, condolences. Pat & Paul
