Frank C. "Chops" Berenotto

1927 - 2024

Berenotto, Frank C. "Chops", - 96, of Somers Point, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, January 29, 2024 at Meadowview Nursing and Rehab Center in Northfield where he was a resident since May of 2021. Frank was born on October 31, 1927 in Atlantic City, where he grew up and resided, before moving to Somers Point in 1986. He was a member of Local Union 54 enjoying his job as a bartender for many years in several of the old hotels before the casino boom. He was also a tile setter by trade, remodeling many kitchens and baths throughout the area, He enjoyed collecting coins, loved jazz music, and would frequent local jazz concerts. Frank proudly served his country in the US Army as a radio operator. Frank is predeceased by his wife Helen, sisters Catherine "Kay" Berenotto, Anne Kilcher and his granddaughter Danielle Berenotto. He is survived by his three children Michael (Donna) of EHT, Stacie Veit (Rich) of EHT, and Chris (Nancy) of Northfield, as well as six grandchildren Andrew, Kristin, Tony, Michael Jr., Jason, and Nicholas. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Meadowview for his care and putting up with "Feisty Frank." A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6th from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. service at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 1707 New Road, Linwood, NJ 08221. Interment will be held in the Greenwood Section of the Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to one of Frank's favorite charities - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Deborah Heart and Lung Center.
