George Xenofanes Obituary

XENOFANES, FATHER GEORGE A., PASTOR - of Atlantic City, was born October 26, 1935 in Newark. He attend Fairleigh Dickinson University Where he received a BS in Industrial Engineering and an MBA. Father George served in numerous industrial companies over the years where in early 90' got the calling to serve God and his orthodox church He attended the St. Sophia Ukrainian Orthodox Seminary and in 1995 ordained deacon and then again in 1996 as Priest serving the Greek Orthodox Church of America, with the last few years as Pastor of St. Nicholas, Atlantic City. Father Xenofanes loved his Greek Traditions, his family and most importantly his church. He was a member of Ahepa and cultural organization. Father George is survived by his beloved wife Presvytera Stavroula and numerous relatives here and in Greece. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Father George's Life Celebration and visitation on Monday July 31, 2006 from 4pm to 9pm at St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 13 South Mount Vernon Ave Atlantic City. Divine Liturgy for Father George will be offered Tuesday August 1, 2006 at 8:30am followed by services at 10am at the church. Burial will follow at Laurel Memorial Park in Pomona. Donations in the memory of Father George Xenofanes may be made to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are by the Jeffries- Keates Funeral Home of Northfield. A life Celebration Funeral Home.
