Gloria Mottola Obituary

Gloria DeSimone Mottola

of Longport, born October 21, 1930, passed away very peacefully on a beautiful Wednesday morning June 19th, surrounded by family & loving friends. To know our beautiful mother was to love her, everywhere you went we were always asked "How's Mom", "I Love Your Mom"...imagine that Mom treated all with kindness, care & love, if you noticed something Gloria had and said, "I like that", she would say "you can have it". There was nothing Mom could not do, decorator, restaurateur, chef, athlete, animal lover and most of all protector. The love mom shared is monumental and will be with us forever & we all know that Mom will guide us from up high in the Heavens with our beloved father Sonny holding her hand. You are home now Mom with your true love and your mom and dad & all your fabulous friends, dancing, singing, playing cards & making everyone laugh. You loved our Lord so much and he always looked out for you right to the end. You were the absolute best MOM in the world, we love you mom forever and a day. The hostess with the mostess...from the shores of the "Captains Galley" to the "World famous Anchorage Tavern" and many restaurants you ran along the way, there was no stopping you MOM. We Love... U A Bushel & A Peck! Gloria is survived by her 5 children, Adrian (Armond), Dawn, Sonny Boy, Virgi (Roz) & Tara Lesley. As well as seven beautiful grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Annalisa, Alexa, Ava, Alex & Sebastian.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 25th, from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. Mass at Epiphany Church in Longport. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing. Arrangements by the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, Linwood - Ventnor. Condolences may be extended to the family at ghwimberg.com.

Gloria was a friend of my dear mom´s. Everyone knew Gloria. She was such a friendly and approachable person, and she certainly was "the hostess with the mostest" for many years at the Anchorage. A blessing to be in her company. May she enjoy the rewards now of touching many lives and her great faith. God bless her always.

Dear Tara, Dawn & family,
I had the pleasure of working with your beautiful Mom in the 90's at Somers Inn. She was the sweetest lady and I enjoyed our talks. She was beautiful inside and out and will be missed. Sympathy and prayers go out to you and your family. xo
