Harvey Adams Obituary

Harvey Scott Adams III, 69, of Evergreen, Colorado, passed away suddenly on November 22, 2025, while pursuing one of his many passions, pheasant hunting in Nebraska, surrounded in the cornfield that day, by family and friends. Born on May 10, 1956, Harvey grew up along the Eastern shore in Absecon, NJ, and developed a deep appreciation for hard work, craftsmanship, music and the outdoors-values that shaped his life and legacy. He was a 1974 graduate of Holy Spirit High School.

In 1983, Harvey moved to Evergreen, where he found both a home and a community he loved. A natural problem-solver and a "get your hands dirty to get the job done" kind of man, he built Adams Plumbing and Heating from the ground up in 1992. For nearly three decades, he and his much appreciated crew proudly served the mountain community with integrity and skill.

Harvey developed the Historic Hiwan Barn into the building that stands today in Bergen Park. Adams Plumbing & Heating was instrumental in installing the plumbing and heating systems for many iconic projects in Evergreen including; the Lake House, Christ the King Catholic Church, various Evergreen Fire Stations and Loaf and Jugs, to mention a few.

He retired in 2020, leaving behind not just a successful business, that continues to serve the mountain community today, but a reputation for honesty, reliability, and old-fashioned craftsmanship.

In his retirement, he returned to his roots on the Atlantic Ocean, that had always called to him. Recently spending summers fishing, boating and savoring quiet moments alongside his adored wife in the Outerbanks of North Carolina.

Harvey married the love of his life, Teresa (Terry), in 1985. Together they raised three beautiful children-Cody, Danielle, and Luke-who remain a testament to his strength, humor, and steady presence. In 2024, Harvey embraced a new chapter as a grandfather to his beloved granddaughter, Luciana, whose arrival brought immense joy and a renewed sense of wonder into his life.

An avid fisherman, hunter, skier, outdoorsman and gardener. Harvey found adventure and joy in the mountains, rivers, forests and oceans. He also nurtured a lifelong passion for vintage vehicles and creative metalwork, pursuits that let him blend artistry with hands-on skill. Whether restoring a classic pickup or crafting a one-of-a-kind metal piece, Harvey took pride in creating something lasting and meaningful.

Harvey is survived by his beloved; wife, Terry Adams, children; Cody Adams (Melodie Nye), Danielle Adams (Fiancé Evan Davis), and Luke Adams (Ariel Adams); granddaughter, Luciana Adams, and sister; Suzanne Taccarino. He leaves behind countless; nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. His Employees, Suppliers and Customers from over the years, will always remember his generosity, humor, and unwavering work ethic. Harvey is predeceased by his parents; Harvey Scott Jr. and Helen Adams.

Please consider donating in his memory to; Pheasants Forever (Pheasantsforever.org), Ducks Unlimited (Ducksunlimited.org), and/or Mountain Area Land Trust (savetheland.org).

A funeral service will be held on December 5, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church – (4291 Evergreen Pkwy, Evergreen, CO 80439). Harvey lived with grit, heart, and a quiet strength that left an impression on everyone who knew him. His legacy-rooted in love, craftsmanship, and the great outdoors-will live on in the family he built and the community he served.

I was really saddened to learn of the passing of my good friend from our younger years. Harvey was a special guy. He was athletic, but not your typical jock. He was a gymnast, and a pole vaulter on our championship track team in `74, but at heart he was an outdoorsman. He was always looking for the fun angle, no matter the circumstances, turning work into play, and play into a party. He made things happen. I remember that he was into Four-Wheeling long before that became a thing, another aspect of his infectious "joie de vivre". New Jersey seemed to restrict his ambitions, and we lost touch when he moved to Colorado, perhaps the best place to be for a man of his disposition, but he is well remembered back here at home. I´m happy to have known him and call him my friend. He lived. With gusto. My deepest condolences to Terry and his family. Rest in Peace, Trixter...
