James J. "Jim" Sullivan Jr.

Sullivan, James "Jim" J., Jr., - 68, of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on December 6, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the loving son of the late James J. Sullivan, Sr., and Kathryn (McKeever) Sullivan. Jim was a graduate of Father Judge High School in Northeast Philadelphia, class of 1971. He went on to attend West Chester University and graduated in 1976. In his youth, Jim was a great basketball player — he earned the nickname "Stuff" due to his ability to dunk — and later, passed on his skills as a coach. Jim was a salesman for various lawn and garden companies which included Harmony Outdoor Brands, Scotts and Miracle Grow. Jim enjoyed gardening and cooking — he was considered a grill master. He loved watching the Phillies and Eagles in his recliner. Jim was extremely proud of his five children and his many grandchildren. He celebrated their accomplishments big and small and was especially proud of the military service of three of his children. Jim loved life and had a great sense of humor, and he was always ready with a "Dad Joke". He was considered "hip" by his friends and family, and most importantly, himself. He loved walking on the Ocean City boardwalk and dining at local restaurants with his best friend and partner, Miggie. Jim will be missed and fondly remembered by his partner; Margaret "Miggie" R. Miller, daughters; Virginia "Ginny" Sullivan, Anne Catherine (Sean) Lenahan, Mary Elizabeth (Joseph Rollo) Sullivan, sons; James "John" Sullivan III, Michael (Dianna) Sullivan, grandchildren; Brendan, Molly, Makayla, Jonathan, Carson, Stella, Jordan, Nolan, Timothy "Crew," and Justin, his sister; Claire (Charlie) Boersig, late sisters Mary (Michael) McGerry, Joan Rietzen, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, Margaret's children; Monica Miller, Doug (Carly) Miller, and Jamison (Jessica) Miller and former spouse Virginia C. Sullivan. Jim's Life Celebration will be private; however, relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Jeffries and Keates Funeral Home, 228 Infield Ave., Northfield, NJ 08225 on Sunday, December 12th from 1pm-2pm.
