Jeffrey Lewis Laster

1967 - 2022

Laster, Jeffrey Lewis, - 55, of Atlantic City, passed away unexpectedly on December 13th, 2022. Born on July 14th, 1967, to the late Robert and Geraldine Laster in Atlantic City, he was affectionately known as "Jeff" or "Coach Jeff." Jeff's love for education began in the Atlantic City Public School System, where he excelled. After graduating high school, he attended Morehouse University and graduated from West Texas A&MUniversity with a B.S. in Education and an M.S. in Communication. Jeff also later obtained a Master of Education and Leadership from Nova University. Jeffrey was also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. Jeff devoted his life to "his" children in the classroom, on the court, or in life. He dedicated 22 years to the Pleasantville School District, impacting each student he came across as an educator, coach, and mentor. Surviving are his sister, Karen Laster-Terry; his sons, Tavares Battie and Kendall Laster; two grandsons, Kam'ren and Tyler; siblings, Ricky Laster and Peggy Sloan, and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends. Services will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 353 S. New Road, Pleasantville, at 11AM Tuesday, December 20, 2022 where friends may call from 9 until 10:30AM. Burial in Atlantic City Cemetery. Arrangements are by Jennings Funeral Home, Pleasantville.
