Johnathan David Scull

1995 - 2022

Scull, Johnathan David, - 27, of Northfield, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, as a result of a tragic accident while working on his car. John was a lifelong resident of Northfield, graduating from Northfield Community School, and in 2014, Mainland Regional High School. He went on to continue his education at ACCC and obtained his Associate Degree in Science. John then went on to MCCC and obtained his Certificate in Mortuary Science. John also successfully completed his police training through the Atlantic County Police Academy. Johnathan was an avid runner during his high school days, participating in Cross Country. Johnathan especially loved exploring things and taking mechanical things apart to see how they worked. Putting them back together was a different story. Johnathan loved hiking, biking, and camping with his family, especially in Lake George, NY. And as everyone knows, John loved driving, and he loved cars. That love is what tragically took him from us. Johnathan had a special way and love about him. He was kind and caring to everyone; he loved helping people. His compassion led him to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, Francis D. Perfect, and become a funeral director. He chose to help people during their biggest time of need. John served as a funeral director with both the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home and most recently, with the Wimberg Funeral Home. John also admired his father and his career as a member of the New Jersey State Police. As a young boy, John wore his police shirt and hat and pulled over imaginary cars with lights and sirens on his wagon. John then completed training and became a member of Northfield Police Department. John truly loved his police officer comrades, and strived to be the most compassionate police officer one could be. During the academy, to no one's surprise, John of course excelled in the evasive driving block. John most recently traveled cross-country with his girlfriend. They had dreams of continuing travel and exploration. The bottom line is, John was loved by all who knew him, worked with him, and were helped by him. Johnathan was predeceased by his grandparents Francis D. Perfect and Merion E. Perfect, his uncle Francis "Duke" Perfect Jr., and cousins Michael Scull and Wendy Burlingame. John is survived by his loving parents William and Helen of Northfield, brother William of Cape Coral, Florida, sister Amanda of Northfield, his grandparents Paul and Merlyn Scull of Estell Manor, and his girlfriend Millie Milne of Egg Harbor City. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins. John also leaves behind his most loved furry friends, Jameson, Hennessy, and Willow. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2022 from 4-7pm at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. Another visitation will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022 from 9-11am at the Wimberg Funeral Home 211 E. Great Creek Rd. Galloway, NJ 08205. A Service will follow at 11am. Burial will be held at Port Republic Cemetery.
