Joseph Nimmer Obituary

NIMMER, JOSEPH JOHN, 82 - of Ocean City, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2006 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he had lived in Cheltenham, PA, and was a resident of Ocean City, since 1962. Mr. Nimmer was a graduate of South East Catholic High School Class of 1941 Philadelphia, PA, a graduate of Industrial School of Arts, Philadelphia, PA, and had attended Temple School of Engineering. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Army before his honorable discharge in 1945. Mr. Nimmer was the owner of Mackenzie and Nimmer General Contractors for many years before his retirement in 1977. He served as a Project Manager for the Ocean City Community Center construction, where he obtained the funds for the construction of the center, served as a Project Manager for the Ocean City Board of Education, and Project Manager for the Ocean City Primary and High School. Mr. Nimmer was a member of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church in Ocean City. Surviving are his wife, Rita Nimmer (nee Kehoe), four children, Karen Nimmer, John Nimmer, Joanne Nimmer, Susan Nimmer, all of Ocean City, and a brother, Raymond Nimmer of Moorestown. He was predeceased by three brothers, Thomas, George and Charles Nimmer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday Morning at 11 o'clock from St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, 13th Street at Wesley Ave, Ocean City, where friends may call from 10 o'clock until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow mass in Seaside Cemetery, Palermo. The family suggests those who desire send memorial contributions to St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Ocean City, NJ 08226.
