Joseph A. Robinson Sr.

1934 - 2022

Robinson, Joseph A., Sr., - 88, of Sea Isle City, NJ, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late John and Mary Wilson Robinson, he moved to Sea Isle City in 2000 after living in Edgewater Park for over 40 years. He received his bachelor's degree from St. Joseph University and was Senior Vice President of Vital Communications. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Joe was an active member of St. Joseph R.C. Church in Sea Isle City where he was a Eucharistic Minister and filled in as an altar server when needed. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sea Isle City chapter of AARP, serving as their Treasurer. He was involved in many community activities in Sea Isle City and received multiple awards including Volunteer of the Year, Citizen of the Year as well as the Key to the City for volunteering. He was an all-around good guy and to know him was to love him. Joe is survived by his wife of 66 years Jane (nee Cavanagh) Robinson; his children Joseph A. (Melinda) Robinson, Jr., Karen (Tom) Davis, Sharon (Joseph) Kane, Jane (Tom) Zampino, Mariaelena (Jack) Joyce, James Robinson, and Steven Robinson; his sisters Theresa Ashworth and Sr. Mary Rita, Sisters of Mercy; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother John J. Robinson, Jr. (Claire), his sister Sr. Catherine Agnes, IHM, his grandson Joe Joe Kane, and his brother-in-law Richard Ashworth. A celebration of Joe's life will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 4308 Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City. Viewing will be held from 9:00 to 10:45 am with the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will be private in Resurrection Cemetery, Clermont, NJ.
