Joseph Shaw Obituary
October 19, 1937 - October 18, 2025
Joseph G. Shaw passed away on October 18, 2025 at the age of 87.
Joseph was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Shaw in 2019; wife, Jennifer Shaw in 2024; and son, Stuart Shaw in 2025; brothers, Frederick and Edward; and sisters, Catherine and Jane. He is survived by his son, Joseph Shaw and his wife Terry; brother, Fran Shaw and his wife Carol; sister, Patricia Macanagno; sister, Joan Pitt and her husband Bill. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Brittany Shaw and her husband Alex Reimold; their children, Gavin and Nora; as well as his granddaughter, Samantha Shaw and her husband Ben Broser.
Joe was born in Camden, N.J. but spent most of his childhood and young adult years in Atlantic City where he attended Holy Spirit Elementary School and Holy Spirit High School. Joe worked as an usher at the Roxy Theater as a teen and eventually enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed in Fairford England where he met his wife, Jennifer.
After their sons, Joseph and Stuart, were born they moved back to Atlantic City, where Chris came along, before settling permanently in Brigantine where Joe was active in his church at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish as well as coaching Little League baseball in town.
Joe worked at Wheaton Plastics in Mays Landing N.J. for over 30 years and loved attending the retiree lunches with his old friends. He finished his career at Captive Plastics in Piscataway N.J.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Joseph's Life Celebration Memorial service on Monday November 17, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Keates-Plum Funeral Home, 3112 West Brigantine Ave., Brigantine, NJ 08203. A visitation for Joseph will be held at Keates-Plum from 10 a.m. until time of service. Military Honors will be rendered by Last Salute Military Funeral Honor Guard.
