Joseph W. Denan
Denan, Joseph W., - 56, of Egg Harbor Township, passed away after a long battle with illness on September 18, 2020. Joe fought a long and hard fight for which he should be admired. He was an ardent traveler who saw the world with his husband and other family; Italy was his favorite place to visit. He also loved anything musical, including spontaneous trips to Broadway to see a show, or indulging David's love of baseball at Fenway Park. A foodie and wonderful cook, Joe also enjoyed dinners out with family and friends. He will be missed for his quick wit, his ability to put others before himself, his giving nature, and his love of his family. Joe is survived by his husband, David Kallen, and their five dogs; his siblings, Frank (Sherry), Marie, Michael (Sharon), and Karen (Nick); as well as his nieces, nephews, and grandnephews. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Marie; and his sister, Carol. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020, from 5pm until 6pm at Middleton-Stroble & Zale Funeral Home, 304 Shore Road, Somers Point. A private service will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Atlantic County Humane Society at http://humanesocietyac.org/donate/. Dave, I am so sorry to hear of Joes passing. He was such a fighter. Although we met through work, he became such a dear friend to me. He helped me out so many times in my career. I will so miss his compassion for others and his love of life. I will miss his stories of his travels. He had so many wonderful experiences. I loved to talk to him about Boston. And who can forget the wonderful lunches we shared. And all the laughs. Such a great friend. Rest In Peace Joe. Your memory will stay with me forever. God bless you Dave for taking such good care of him through these very tough times.

Joe lived his live to the fullest. He was a beautiful soul inside and out. He was one of the funniest guys I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. His quick wit and sense of humor was the absolute best, always finding a way to make me laugh no matter what the situation was. I always loved to hear his reviews on his dining experiences often making me laugh hysterically. I will miss his random text messages and or phone calls just to say hello. Joe you put up such a great fight and you will always be my hero. I love and miss you so much already but please rest easy now my dear. Thank you so much for our friendship, I will treasure it always. Til we meet again. Love you
Kim
