KEVIN MCCARTNEY Obituary
MCCARTNEY, KEVIN BRUCE 58 - Nov. 30. 1953- Jan. 13, 2011. Joint resident of Myrtle Beach, SC and Atlantic City passed on peacefully at Grand Strand Regional Medical after a brief period of illness. Kevin was born and raised in Atlantic City and graduated as a star baseball player from Atlantic City High School. He then went on to shape the casino industry with his personality to inspire and motivate, not only in Atlantic City, but all over the United States, Central America and the Caribbean. In his early years. Kevin worked for Atlantic City Electric. Then, he started his 15 year career at Harrah's Entertainment. He was first a blackjack dealer, then floor manager, pit boss, all the way up to executive of player development. After the birth of his son, he moved to Ft Myers, FL where he opened Harrah's first independently owned junket marketing office called Casino Connections of which he was president and CEO. In 2001, he joined Mandalay Resort in Las Vegas as their executive director of player development and junket marketing. Most recently, Kevin was the managing partner of BlackJet Air and president of Goliath Gaming LLC. He enjoyed playing baseball, collecting and faceting gems for jewelry, riding Harley motorcycles, owning and maintaining Mercedes Benz's, chatting with any and all persons, and caring for his two loving children. Kevin was the eldest of three children born to the late Barry McCartney and Nancy Bovi McCartney and was the beloved husband of Maria Cortez for 15 cherished years. Kevin will never be forgotten by his devoted sisters Cynthia Bellone and Lisa McCartney, loving children Alexandria Cossiart and Christopher McCartney, and treasured granddaughter Lily Amber Cossiart, along with countless friends, family, and business colleagues. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday January 29th at Saint Nicholas of Tolentine on South Tennessee Ave in Atlantic City.

My deepest sympathies to all of Kevin's Family.
We were friends at Our Lady Star of the Sea grade school, the Ventnor Rollerskating Rink, and fraternity brothers in high school. Although I haven't seen Kevin in years, it's good to know he accomplished so many things in his life and was surrounded with loving family and friends.
My thoughts and prayers are with Kevin and his family.
