Lois Inglessis Obituary

Lois Faye Inglessis (nee Lihn) passed away peacefully December 30, 2024 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her sister, Katie Riggione; daughter, Zoe Rosenbaum (husband Ken) of Gaithersburg, MD; son, Kimon of Amsterdam Netherlands; granddaughters, Claire Rosenbaum (husband Daniel) of Odenton, MD and Betty Rosenbaum (wife Heledd) of London England; niece, Susan Lihn; and nephews, Barney Lihn and Jon Cohen. Lois was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Lillian Lihn; and her brother, Irwin Lihn. Lois grew up in Vineland, NJ, graduating from Vineland High School in 1955 and Temple University in 1959. Her favorite memory of her years in Philadelphia was being part of the Temple University Concert Choir. Her musical passion was folk music, singing, playing the guitar, piano and flute. Her employment included working in real estate as an agent and a licensed broker; working for the Vineland and Atlantic City Housing Authorities as the director of Section 8 housing; and as a blackjack and baccarat dealer and floor person in Atlantic City, NJ. Lois moved to central Florida to be closer to her son, Kimon, and to enjoy the warmer weather. She lived for many years in the Orlando area. There she made great friends through exercise classes at the local YMCA, singing and playing guitar with the Central Florida Folk Society, and playing Mah Jongg with several groups of women. Occasionally she and her friend Doris would enter multiple-day tournaments both on land at sea. Lois volunteered on the board of her condo association and for the Seminole and Orange Counties' Democratic Party. In 2022 Lois moved to Maryland to be closer to her daughter, Zoe, son-in-law, Ken, and her granddaughters. Lois found new friends among her neighbors for dinners, and games of Mah Jongg and Rummikub. These friends were protective of her and will always hold a special place in our heart for looking after "Grammi".
A graveside service and burial will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 2 p.m. from Alliance Cemetery, 970 Gershal Ave, Norma. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Lois was my first director in the housing business. She was a leader and fought the fight for those in need, especially the elderly. Fair and compassionate, she is still my benchmark.
