Luis Fernandez Obituary



FERNANDEZ, LUIS "BASILIANO", 54, - of Atlantic City, departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at the Atlanticare Regional Medical Center, City Campus. He was born on Dec. 18, 1953, in La Habana, Cuba, to the late Aracely Alfonso and Luis P. Fernandez. He migrated to the United States in 1980 to Miami. He relocated to Atlantic City and was employed by Pozo Furniture Store in Union, as well of other local motels and casinos. He received his high school diploma. Survivors: His daughter, Elsy Fernandez of Atlantic City; His sons, Aaron Alfonso of San Diego, CA. and Juan Alfonso of Jacksonville, FL.; His brother, Enrique Cuni; mother of daughter, Digna Aguiar of Atlantic City; sisters, Zenaida Fernandez and Marta Alfonso; one grandchildren, Yesbel Powell-Fernandez; god-son, Aldo Karell; His nephews Luis Fernandez, Varbarito and Michel; His friend, Vladimir Brozart; and a host of other loving family and friends. A Viewing will held on Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, from 7 pm until 12 am at Mikal's Funeral Parlor, Inc., 1033 Baltic Ave., Atlantic City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Atlantic and California Aves., Atlantic City.
