MARIA APONTE-VEGA Obituary
APONTE-VEGA, MARIA 41 - of Egg Harbor Township passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Born on June 27, 1971 in Bronx, NY. She lived in Egg Harbor Township and worked as a subcontractor for the FAA Technical Center. Maria enjoyed spending time at the beach reading, going camping, scrap-booking and most of all spending time with her close knit family. She shared a love of gardening with her mother Natividad Cruz and older sister Raquel Arroyo DeFino (Anthony). Her younger sister Stephanie Welsh Wroniuk (Henry) will always remember Maria singing her favorite tunes. Maria's love of children showed the most when she was playing with her niece Chole Wroniuk (3) and nephew Anthony DeFino (5). But clearly the loves of her life were her three beautiful children Elisa Rodriguez (24) and Christopher (17) and Gabriel (11) Vega. Maria's world centered around them and she loved them fiercely with all her heart. She is also survived by her father, Jose Aponte; brothers Nelson and Salvador Arroyo, Jose Jr. (Jetzy) and Joel (Reziah) Aponte; sister Madelyn Aponte Roman (George) as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Services will be held at 5:00pm on Wednesday, December 26th at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 1707 New Road, Linwood where visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maria Aponte-Vega Children's Trust at TD Bank.

Maria,
I only knew you from the friendly smiles and hellos as we passed by each other at the Tech Center. Most often you took the time to say more than hello, we might have exchanged a few words and laughs. It is Today that I realize how HUGE a loss this is for your family and friends, and even mere acquiantances. What I do know is that you were a good person and you will be missed by many even those that were lucky enough to simply cross your path.

I will always love Maria like a sister, there are so many beautiful childhood memories I have from our years growing up on Montrose St. in Vineland. I will never understand why young, beautiful, vibrant people die in their prime of life. I can only find comfort in knowing that we will all be reunited with her again someday in Heaven.
