MARIE JOHNSON Obituary



JOHNSON, MARIE T. 90 - of Ocean City, on December 26, 2010 at her residence in Ocean City, New Jersey. Born April 9, 1920 in Philadelphia, PA she grew up in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia. Mrs. Johnson graduated from Frankford High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing. She also served in the U.S. Army Corp. of Nurses in Persia (Iran) during WW II. Moving to Ocean City in 1954 she was co-owner of Dailey Plumbing and Heating along with her husband Walter. She enjoyed traveling, reading, knitting, bowling, baking cookies and spending time with friends. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, St. Mary's Guild and the V.F.W. Survived by her daughter, Joyce Johnson of Palermo, sister and brother in law, Therese and Philippe Bates of Philadelphia, PA, sister in law Madeline Uhlman (Thomas Sliney) of Florida, and six nieces and nephews. Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by her husband, Walter S., her brothers Charles and Martin Uhlman and her niece Sandra Wotus. Burial Office and Requiem Eucharist will be Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 11 o'clock from Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 30th and Bay Avenue, Ocean City, NJ, where friends may call from 10 o'clock until the time of service. Donations may be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Building Fund, 30th and Bay Avenue, Ocean City, NJ 08226 or The Stainton Society, Shore Memorial Hospital, One East New York Avenue, Somers Point, NJ 08244.
