MATTHEW BRAMAN

BRAMAN, MATTHEW DDS 82 - of Ventnor, formerly of Rydal, PA passed away peacefully on March 19, 2012. He was a prominent orthodontist who practiced his profession for 51 years in Northeast Philadelphia and New Jersey. Matt created thousands of beautiful smiles and many were loyal second generation patients who became friends over the years. Matthew held many offices in the dental field after graduating from Temple University, School of Dentistry in 1956. After dental school, he was a Captain in the Air Force at Ramey Air force base, Puerto Rico. Upon returning to the states he was one of three men accepted to the Temple's first Graduate Orthodontic Program. He was past president of Northeast Dental Society, Greater Northeast Dental Society , and the Temple University Orthodontic Alumni Association. He was was a life member of Sigma Epsilon Delta Dental Fraternity, the American Association of Orthodontics and the American Dental Association. Matt had many interests ranging from his beloved Philadelphia sports teams, the beach, salt water fishing, fine food and wine, traveling, reading and collecting lifelong friends from all circles. Matt leaves his wife Leatrice (Leatty) of 55 years and his treasured family, daughters Susan B. Checkman, Linda B. Katz (Dr. Paul) and Rachel I. Braman. , a grandson, Jordan B. Checkman and his brother Jay (Barbara) Braman along with many nieces and nephews.
