Naomi Dillon Obituary

DILLON, Naomi C. (Nee Bradley), - 93, of Ventnor City, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family May 29th, 2022. Naomi was born August 16, 1928, in North Philadelphia to her parents, Mary (nee Lee) & Elmer Bradley. Naomi moved to Atlantic City, with her sister Patricia, in 1946. It had always been her dream to live by the Atlantic Ocean. Once in Atlantic City, Naomi worked at Bell Telephone Company, where she remained for twenty years. It is there that she met her love, Joseph W. Dillon and they married in 1949. Shortly thereafter, the happy couple moved to Ventnor where they created a home for their six children. Naomi remained in that home until her last day and was often referred to as the "Mayor of Wyoming Avenue "or more recently "Don Nomi", as she greeted the children walking to & from school and made friends with all the neighbors, old and new alike. Naomi was an avid gardener, and every summer could be found in her backyard, known as her "wee bit O' heaven". Most important to Naomi was her family. She devoted her life to her six children, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Naomi is survived by her children; Joseph W. Dillon, Patricia Doyle (Michael), James Dillon (Stephanie), Kathleen Phillips, Colleen Levitz (Gary) and Eileen Dillon; her grandchildren, Matthew Doyle (Lindsay), Rachel Levitz (Ricky), Joseph Dillon Jr. (Nicole), Natalie Phillips, John Phillips, Melissa Bates (Justin) Amy Dillon, Daniel Gantert, Jacob Levitz and Carolyn Levitz; great-grandchildren, Alex and Zoe Rivera and Connor Bates; and her beloved dachshund, Buddy. Naomi is pre-deceased by her husband, Joseph W. Dillon; her grandson, Patrick Doyle; her siblings, George Bradley, Mary Powell, Helen Cavanaugh and Patricia D'ippolito; son in law, Richard Phillips and daughter in law, Deborah Truesdell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Naomi C. Dillion 11:00am Saturday, June 4th at Holy Trinity Parish, St. James Church, 6415 Atlantic Avenue, Ventnor. Friends may call at the Church for visitation with the family at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to: Tunnels To Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 or to a charity of your choice. Burial will be private, held at a later date. My Sincere condolences to the entire "Dillon" Family.--I was so saddened to Read this in the AC PRESS. I will always have a "SPECIAL" place in my heart for your Mom . We worked together for MANY years @ N.J. Bell & she always treated me like her "3rd" Son. May She "Rest In Peace" and know that you are All in my Prayers during this most difficult time.

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Naomi. We have walked past her house for years and she always either smiled, waved or talked to us. We will keep Naomi and her family in our prayers and hearts during this very sad time and we will always remember her fondly.
