Nathan Diamond
February 27, 1930 - November 9, 2025
Nathan Diamond, 95, of Margate, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his three loving children. Born in Atlantic City, NJ he was the adorable and loving son of the late Morris and Esther (Berry) Diamond and the devoted and wonderful husband of the late Sima Diamond, who passed away in 2022. They had a beautiful, storybook marriage. One of constant love, care, giving to one another, and protecting each other every day. They rarely spent a day apart.
Nathan grew up in Atlantic City, NJ, and graduated from Atlantic City High School. Nathan then went to Rutgers University and graduated in 1951. He never bought a book after the first semester of his freshman year, but he regularly attended class and took good notes. His kids and grandkids always got a kick out of that.
Upon graduation, Nathan proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. After being discharged, Nathan was hired by Reynolds Securities Company in 1960 until it was bought by Dean Witter & Co. Dean Witter & Co. was eventually acquired by Morgan Stanley. Nat stayed with the same firm for 50 years, his entire career, through many mergers and acquisitions. Nathan retired from Morgan Stanley in 2010 as a Senior VP and Certified Financial Planner at the age of 80. Nathan was a charter member of the Morgan Stanley Chairman's Club.
Nathan taught a financial course at Stockton University and was loved by all his students. Nat gave every student in his class A's and was reprimanded by the Dean at Stockton. To pacify the Dean, he agreed to give one student a B.
Throughout his life, Nathan mentored and nurtured many young people and was loved by all who met him: his co-workers, his physical therapists, his children's friends, neighbors, his friends, his medical staff, and everyone whose lives he touched. Nathan possessed the positive attributes of generosity, patience, kindness, love, and humility towards everyone.
Many people came to him for guidance and help. He always made himself available to help anyone. Young people would often sit in his office to learn and observe his work ethic and boundless energy. He was constantly trying to help young people make connections to secure them jobs. He was always giving of his time and help to all. He often succeeded.
Nat loved telling jokes, and nobody was spared; his banker, coworkers, his physical therapist, speech therapist, and health aid. The family will always remember him and adore him as a loving, mischievous, practical joker with a wonderful sense of humor and a heart of gold.
Nat loved watching the Philadelphia Eagles and would get very excited when the Eagles played! He always enjoyed having Super Bowl parties with friends, neighbors, and his family. He also loved to watch the Philadelphia 76ers. Nathan was an avid tennis player and was pretty good at it. He also played basketball in high school, and he was pretty good at that, too.
Nathan will be missed and forever loved and adored by his son; Lee Diamond, daughters, Ellen Bohlke, Jennifer (Johnny) Reedie, his grandchildren: Jordan Reedie (Kerry Rubenstein), James Reedie, Jason Reedie, and Olive Reedie; his great-granddaughter, whose picture was front and center in his office, Lily (Riley Murphy) Bohlke, his only granddaughter; and Nicholas Bohlke. Nathan (Poppy) was crazy about his grandchildren and his great-granddaughter. He spent hours and hours playing, taking walks on the beach, reading, and teaching them life's important lessons. In addition to his wife and parents, Nathan was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Robert Diamond. He will be close to us forever in our hearts and minds every day.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nathan's memory to the
